Do A Health Check First
It is always advisable that before you begin any fitness or exercise program, check with your doctor or health expert first.
This will help you know your fitness level and how healthy you, this will better inform you of the exercise to start.
If it turns out that you have any health complications that will endanger your life the doctor will advise you accordingly of the best exercise to start with and even how long you should do it.
With or without any medical issue I will advise that to start any fitness or exercise program start slowly and build up gradually otherwise you will give up sooner than you think.
Start With Walking
A good start for your fitness journey should be walking, it is a great way to get fit. It’s easier to do and help the joints very well – a good thing if you’re overweight or an older athlete.
You don’t need any equipment or the need to pay for a gym membership. Just a durable pair of comfortable sports shoes and a pair of simple and comfortable sportswear, also make sure your shoes have good support and balance.
Walking every day will make a remarkable difference to your fitness levels even if you’re not used to exercising. The more you walk, the fitter you’ll become, walking every day myself has been amazing, and its fun too.
Adventuring into brisk walking is even another level of greatness, it has a long list of health benefits, recent studies have shown that fast walkers(Brisky walkers) live longer.
Walking is also a good stepping stone to taking up running and it’s your stepping stone to your fitness life ahead. I suggest you walk every day for two weeks first before you start running or even jogging.
I love walking and jogging to stay fit, but I’m also the first person to start making excuses if it’s wet or cold outside. A way to get motivated and get over such flimsy excuses is always exercising at a regular time or better still arrange to do it with a friend.
It’s hard to not show up if you know a friend’s waiting on a doorstep for you for a purpose.
Setting fitness goals and creating a workout plan are some of my fitness tips for staying motivated.
Have Enough Sleep
If you’re a night owl, thus love staying awake at night(either for work or fun) like me, getting enough sleep can be a big problem. Yet the truth is skipping on your 7 to 8 hours sleep at night, (even more, if you’re a teenager), can have a negative effect on your fitness.
Try setting a time for bedtime as part of your fitness goal and follow it thoroughly. A regular good sleep routine will surely have a positive effect on your fitness levels.
Choose A Healthy Eating Lifestyle
In addition to taking up a daily routine exercise like walking, jogging as a way to stay fit, making some small other changes in what you eat can help you to stay fit.
